I thought the web cast on drayage was very informative. One problem that frustrates me is the drayage is based on weight. I may have two boxes the same size. One weighs 100lbs and the other 2500lbs. Both require the forklift to unload and move in place. Same labor same time, however, I have to pay 24 times more drayage on the heavier crate. This is typical with my products and most of them are very heavy, but are a lift and set in place, just as a lighter item would be. Doesn't seem fair that my heavier products always bear the bulk of the drayage charge.
