This video on the Mannetron site, show a step-by-step process for designing and creating a robotic whale. While the technology behind this project is beyond most trade shows booths, it does show the amazing technology available in animatronics for creating a branded space.

There is also a Youtube video that shows the installation. The person taping seems geniunely awed. For creating a ‘wow’ effect you could get much better than this.

What’s also interesting is the accuracy with which Mannetron animated the whale. Simulating real life in robotics seems to be undergoing the same kind of revolution that we’ve seen in computer graphics in the last decade. Robotics could be a way of not only wowing an audience but also effectively demonstrating a product or process.
